Your letter No 37141/1911 of the 21st. ultimo with
regard to the Hongkong-Canton Telegraph line was duly received, and has to-day been submitted to my Board,
I have now the honour to inform you that the Directors confirmed the understanding come to between us that the Company would be quite prepared to pay an annual sum as way-leave for erecting telegraph poles and wires on Crown Land along the Railway line in Kowloon, provided
the amount were reasonable.
